Nobody will come play Ywain, even with marketing. Static servers die within the first 5-6 months of launch. The goal is for a progression/event/seasonal type server where the server evolves rapidly over time. The goal of the server isn't to be a new server that will last 15 years without changes. If the game was ever going to be on Steam, it would be already. Splitting the player base is probably the worst move you could make. Once the player base improves it will remove 99% of problems that are stifling the game now. I’ve said it before but nothing will change untilĭrop all fees and make it F2P with no restrictions.Īdvertise the game, steam/Influencers/twitch/YT etc.Īllow a optional sub fee for cosmetics/special titles/mithril only. If it did detract from live, well, there’s another problem which will be bigger than having no classic server. I don’t think personally it will attract new players, only ex toa or long term unsubscribed. Once the nostalgia goes so will the players. IMHO population will start high and then die off over months. I am NOT subscribed to DAOC since many months now. I am playing Eldenring and NW now, will wait for DAOC-Classic. after they introduced them ( playervote ) it went dead again. Just look at WoW-Classic, the time without Raids was glorious. Obviously NEVER EVER introduce things like the TOA-Stuff in RvR. )īack -or Sidestyle while in front can not be. No third-party or automation allowed, CC reduced by 99%. The gap between a casual player/random and a no-lifer MUST be minimal. Start Classic, stay Classic, events and PvE like desired. Only the few mad fanboys that killed also Ywain are vocal, 99.9% of the playerbase will not vote. In the announcement the killing stab from behind is already included. The state of a Classic-Server-Future depends on how it is handled by the developers.
